"The general ethos of the people they have to govern determines the behavior of politicians." T.S. Eliot
I have often written about the knowledge economy (KE) with the intent of providing the view that the traditional industrial economy is being continually replaced by an economy based on knowledge, whereby knowledge is considered a product, but also a tool. In this context I have mentioned the importance of understanding the information society (IS) and its significance as the evolutionary replacement for the industrial society. There are several interpretations for the meaning of information society and one of them is provided by Wikipedia: “An information society is a society in which the creation, distribution, diffusion, use, integration and manipulation of information is a significant economic, political, and cultural activity.”
